We are brought up from a young age to clean our teeth regularly, and yet sometimes, we can become slack with our cleaning routines. Even though we may be pushed for time some days, or tired, it is important to maintain a regular teeth cleaning schedule.

Teeth hygiene is of vital importance for not only their health but also the overall well being of mind and body. People who have strong, healthy and attractive teeth are more confident and out going.

It is recommended to clean teeth after every meal, or if this is not possible, at least two times a day. This will prevent the build up of plaque and bacteria which can cause tooth decay. Using a good quality toothpaste, and changing the toothbrush regularly also help.

As well as a teeth cleaning schedule, it is also advisable to make routine visits to the dentist, of at least one every six months. This will enable the dentist to spot any problems before they become too serious and to act straight away.

Finally, what you drink and eat also can affect the health of your teeth. It is best to stay away from overly sugary foods and drinks such as coke. In addition, it is also best to minimise the intake of coffee and red wine, as these drinks can stain the teeth over time. It goes without saying that smoking is also very bad for teeth.
